Things to pass along

The Komets' health issues haven't improved. Much the opposite.

Brett Smith missed practice today because of illness. And Josh Brittain is banged up. And Eric Giosa had a setback in his recovery from an ankle injury.

Add them to Marco Cousineau (groin), Matt Kennedy (leg) and Ryan Hegarty (hand).

The Komets are hoping maybe they can get Nick Schaus back from Norfolk of the American Hockey League.

  • According to the Komets, Don Tanner, a Komets and IHL historian, has uncovered two more Thankgiving Day games played in the franchise's past. They were played in 1952 (a 3-2 loss at Cincinnati) and 1957 (a 7-3 loss to visiting Toledo). So, the Komets are 32-15-4 in Turkey Day games at Memorial Coliseum and 2-2-0 on the road.
