In October, the New Haven man admitted to trying to rob a Walgreens pharmacy on Bluffton Road on Feb. 19.
According to court documents, Tippmann went into the drugstore and demanded Opana and fentanyl patches, saying he would shoot if he didn’t get the drugs.
The pharmacist told police Tippmann had his hand under his shirt as though he had a gun in his waistband. As the pharmacist asked another employee for the key to the narcotics safe, Tippmann fled the store, according to court documents.
Allen Superior Court Judge Fran Gull sentenced Tippmann to six years in prison, but she ordered four years suspended and three years to be served on probation.
