Winners at the Embassy Festival of Trees

Statement as issued by the Embassy Theatre:

Fort Wayne, Ind., Nov. 20, 2012 – Judges of the annual Embassy Theatre Festival of Trees awarded prizes today to tree decorators.

O Baseball Tree, O Baseball Tree, decorated by Young's Greenhouse & Flower Shop, was awarded Best in Show.

Award winners in other categories included:

  • Best Live Tree Design – World of Imagination – Willy Wonka, decorated by Holland Elementary Special Education Preschool, sponsored by Indiana Michigan Power.
  • Best Traditional Theme Design – The Cat in the Hat, decorated by Armstrong Flowers, Sherry Miller, sponsored by Life Care Center of Fort Wayne.
  • Most Creativity – Sugar and Spice, decorated and sponsored by A Party Apart.
  • First Place Artificial Tree Design – A Pot of Christmas Gold, decorated by Asher Agency, sponsored by Embassy Theatre Board of Directors.
  • Second Place Artificial Tree Design – A Tooth Fairy Christmas, decorated by Woodland Designs, Rene Hassett and sponsored by Afdent Dental.
  • Third Place Artificial Tree Design – Imagine A World of Peace, decorated by Katrina Kay and Larry Kay and sponsored Upstate Alliance of REALTORS.

Judges were Jeff Bowman, Babette Record and Katie Hartzog. Prize winners receive a framed Festival of Trees artwork designed by Emily Harmeyer of Asher Agency. People's Choice Awards will be announced when the Embassy Festival of Trees concludes on Nov. 28.
