Luers would be third 4-time champ

Bishop Luers' quest for four straight state championships won't even be the first such milestone of the night.

The Knights, winners of three straight Class 2A state titles, will be going for No. 4 in a row Friday against top-ranked Indianapolis Ritter.

In the Class A state title game Friday, however, Lafayette Central Catholic won its fourth straight championship with a 14-0 win over Indianapolis Scecina at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Warren Central won four straight 5A state titles from 2003 to 2006.

If Luers (10-4) is able to beat Ritter (14-0), the Knights would be the first 2A team to win four straight.
