600 wheel rims, eyeball-headlights pickup stolen

A pickup truck with eyeballs drawn into the headlights and about 600 aluminum wheel rims were taken in an early morning heist at a New Haven company, New Haven police said.

The burglary between 4 and 6 a.m. Wednesday at Economy Auto Parts in the 5100 block of Old Maumee Road was carried out by five people, according to a statement issued by the New Haven Police Department.

It said the two-tone gray Chevy S-10 truck with the distinctive headlights has a trailer hitch.

There is a video with the suspects’ two trucks, described by police as a 1990s Chevy Silverado extended-cab pickup and a newer Chevy Silverado extended-cab pickup pulling a small wooden trailer.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Jeff McCracken at 748-7093.
