First-half run leads Purdue women to victory

– KK Houser scored 17 points and Courtney Moses added 14 to help No. 14 Purdue rout Marist 71-51 on Thursday night in the Paradise Jam.

Purdue (4-0) led 16-13 midway through the first half before going on a 23-6 run to close the period and take control of the game. Houser had five points during the burst as the Boilermakers led 39-19 at the half.

Marist fell to 2-2.

No. 2 UCONN 95, WAKE FOREST 34: In St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Breanna Stewart scored 20 points while Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis and Morgan Tuck each had 16 to help the Huskies (3-0) rout the Demon Deacons (2-2).

Men

No. 5 DUKE 89, MINNESOTA 71: In Paradise Island, Bahamas, Seth Curry scored 25 points and Mason Plumlee added 20 points and matched a career high with 17 rebounds to lead the Blue Devils (4-0). Rodney Williams had 16 points for the Golden Gophers (4-1).

No. 13 MISSOURI 78, STANFORD 70: In Paradise Island, Bahamas, Laurence Bowers scored 19 points to lead the Tigers (4-0) past the Cardinal (3-2).

VCU 78, No. 19 MEMPHIS 65: In Paradise Island, Bahamas, Treveon Graham scored 26 points and Rob Brandenberg added 15 to lead VCU (3-1) to an upset. Adonis Thomas had 19 points for the Tigers (2-1).
