3 men injured in strip club shooting

Two men were shot early Friday at a strip club on the city’s north side, Fort Wayne police said.

A report of gunshots about 4 a.m. sent officers to The Cabaret, 1525 Production Road, said officer John Chambers, a police spokesman.

Several people were at the club when police arrived. A witness reported he was trying to break up a fight in the club between two men when one of them pulled a gun and shots rang out, police said.

One man, shot once in the abdomen and once in the hip, went to a hospital without help from medics, and police found him there, said officer Jason Anthony, a police spokesman. The man, initially in serious condition, was in fair condition Friday night.

A second man shot in the thigh and a third man with unknown injuries both received medical treatment and were released, Anthony said.

Police did not disclose the victims’ identities.
