LOS ANGELES – Yep, I'm still out here until 11 tonight.
The Irish (12-0), who completed their first undefeated regular-season since 1988 with a 22-12 win over USC (7-5) Saturday night, received all of the first-place votes in the AP poll and all but three-first place votes in the coaches poll. Notre Dame collected 60 AP first-place votes and 56 first-place coaches votes.
The Irish were followed by Alabama and Georgia in both polls for the second straight week.
Ohio State is fourth in the AP poll, and Florida and Oregon switched spots in the poll with the Gators moving to No. 5 and the Ducks slipping to No. 6.
In the coaches poll, which Ohio State cannot receive votes in because of NCAA sanctions, Oregon remained an No. 4 with Florida moving into the No. 5 thanks to its victory over Florida State on Saturday. The Seminoles plummeted from No. 5 to No. 12 in the coaches poll.
The BCS standings come out later tonight, and Notre Dame will likely be No. 1 in the BCS for a second week in a row. Alabama and Georgia, which play in the SEC title game on Saturday, will likely be No. 2 and No. 3 in the standings, and the winner of the game between the Crimson Tide and the Bulldogs will most likely play the Irish for the championship.
