Ants 0 for 2

The Mad Ants lost for the second time in as many games for the 2012-13 NBA D-League season, 115-110, to the Maine Red Claws on Sunday at Memorial Coliseum.

Maine (2-0) broke away from a 76-all tie midway through the third quarter and outscored the Ants 27-12 for a 103-88 lead with 8:23 still remaining.

Sadiel Rojas' jumper off a feed from Dairese Gary got the Ants to within 94-88 with 9:42 remaining, but Maine took off on a 15-5 spurt and pulled away again, only for the Ants to get within three points on Miles Plumlee's driving layup with 10.7 seconds remaining. Maine's Micah Downs dropped two free throws with 8.5 seconds left to secure the win.

Guard Orlando Johnson, assigned to the Ants from the Indiana Pacers, led Fort Wayne with 30 points. Ron Howard added 24.

The Ants return to the Coliseum on Wednesday to play Canton.
