2 shot at Fort Wayne bar

FORT WAYNE – Two men were shot early Monday on the city’s south side, one found shot inside a bar and the other at a house nearby.

The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating the shootings about 2:45 a.m. outside Foster’s Sports Pub, 4226 S Clinton St.

Multiple calls came in to police about the shooting at the bar at McKinnie Avenue, and officers reported that the victim told them he was shot outside in front of the bar. Police said he was shot in the leg.

About the same time, police learned there was a second victim, in the 4100 block of Lafayette Street. When they got to the house, they report finding a second man with multiple gunshot wounds, including several in the upper back.

He told police he was also shot in front of Foster’s, according to officers’ reports, and that the suspects had been in a car.

The man found inside Foster’s was last reported in fair condition and the man in the house was last reported in serious but stable condition, police said.

Police found a number of shell casings outside the bar.

This is the second shooting incident reported outside Foster's this year. A 67-year-old man was seriously injured there in March.
