Drive-by shooting injures 2 near bar

A shooting early Monday morning outside a south-side bar left two men injured, according to Fort Wayne police.

Officers were called to Foster’s Sports Pub, 4226 S. Clinton St., just after 2:45 a.m.

Inside the bar, officers found 34-year-old Adrian L. Davis, with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Medics transported him from the scene. He was listed in fair condition, officials said.

At a home nearby, officers found 35-year-old Eric D. Lewis, suffering from a gunshot wound to his hand and possibly more injuries to his back, according to police authorities.

When questioned, both Davis and Lewis said they were standing outside the bar when shots rang out from a car.

The two men, however, gave different descriptions of the car.

Lewis said it might have been white; Davis said it might have been maroon, police reports said.

Few people stayed at the bar as police arrived to investigate, according to police reports.

Those few who did stay to speak with officers said they heard the gunshots and ducked for cover, never seeing who did the shooting or what the shooters might have been driving.
