CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Senior Trey McKinney Jones scored a career-high 18 points and the Miami Hurricanes (4-1) held No. 13 Michigan State without a field goal for a pivotal 5 1/2 -minute stretch in the second half in a 67-59 victory Wednesday night.
McKinney Jones went 5 for 7 from three-point range, including a basket that capped a 14-2 run to start the second half that put Miami ahead 41-33. The lead grew to 57-45, and it went 8 for 8 from the free throw line over the final 2:11 to seal the victory.
Keith Appling had 15 points for the Spartans (5-2), who lost for the first time since the season opener against UConn.

No. 1 CONNECTICUT 101, COLGATE 41: In Hartford, Conn., Brianna Banks scored a career-high 20 points and Stefanie Dolson added 18 to keep the Huskies undefeated in November for the eighth consecutive year. UConn (6-0) outscored Colgate (2-4) 50-2 in the paint.
No. 4 DUKE 71, MICHIGAN 54: In Ann Arbor, Mich., Chelsea Gray and Elizabeth Williams scored 19 points each to lead the Blue Devils (5-0) in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge. Jenny Ryan tied a career high with 18 points and Kate Thompson added 10 for the Wolverines (5-2).
No. 11 MARYLAND 90, No. 21 NEBRASKA 71: In Lincoln, Neb., Alyssa Thomas scored 25 points and Tianna Hawkins scored 21 to the Terps (4-1). Lindsey Moore led the Cornhuskers (5-2) with 17 points and five steals.
No. 14 PURDUE 85, GEORGIA TECH 73: In West Lafayette, KK Houser scored 19 points, hitting all 10 of her free-throw attempts, and added 10 assists as the Boilers won in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge. Drey Mingo had 16 points, Courtney Moses scored 15 and April Wilson added 12 points for Purdue (6-1).
