FORT WAYNE – Nancy Harmon got a free Hoosier Lottery ticket earlier this month in a promotion after buying a Powerball ticket, and it was the free ticket that paid off.

The lottery commission said the nurse has claimed a Cash 5 jackpot worth $52,500 with a ticket that she got with a coupon at the Speedway station at 6033 W. Jefferson Blvd. on Nov. 17.

The psychiatric nurse put the free ticket in her purse and didn't think about it again until she went to check her Powerball ticket a few days later, the Hoosier Lottery said in a statement.
