Three people were hurt in a three-vehicle crash Saturday evening on U.S. 6 between Waterloo and Butler, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department.
Alonso Delgado Cardoza was headed west on U.S. 6. in a 2004 Chevrolet Impala when he pulled into the eastbound lane to pass a tractor-trailer rig.
In doing so, he collided head-on with a 2000 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Jack L. Thomas. Another pickup truck behind Thomas was also involved in the crash.
Thomas, 73, of Auburn, cut his right hand, and his front-seat passenger, Constance Thomas, 65, also of Auburn, suffered pain to her right hip.
Cardoza, 18, of Goshen, broke his right foot. The vehicles driven by Thomas and Cardoza were both totaled.
The driver of the second pickup truck, Donald L. Dietsch, 56, of Montpelier, Ohio, was not injured. His truck sustained $2,000 in damage.
Emergency workers were dispatched to the crash scene about 5:30 p.m.
