Cavs star nets 1,000th point

– Canterbury’s Trent VanHorn scored his 1,000th career point in a 55-48 victory against Eastside in a boys basketball game Friday.

VanHorn finished with 34 points in the road win.

Jayden Lilly scored 25 points for Eastside.

COLUMBIA CITY 64, NORTHFIELD 32: Drew Benedict scored 30 points in a home win. He made nine three-pointers. Derek Hinen had 13 points for Columbia City.

FREMONT 54, LAKELAND 35: Tyler Jenkins nearly recorded a triple-double for the Eagles in the home win. Jenkins had 20 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists for Fremont.

NORTH SIDE 74, DEKALB 61: Dwight Richards had 18 points and six rebounds for North Side in a road win. Trevion Crews added 17 points. Austin Macy led DeKalb with 18 points.

HOMESTEAD 75, WARSAW 62: Nick Gamble scored 21 points and Caleb Swanigan added 18 for the Spartans in a home win. Jared Bloom led Warsaw with 24 points.

NORTHROP 91, EAST NOBLE 27: Bryson Scott scored 23 points and Brenton Scott finished with 19 for the Bruins in a home win.

WOODLAN 59, GARRETT 52: Jaylin Bennett scored 14 points as Woodlan won at home. Justin McCoy scored 23 points for Garrett.
