Search for missing man turns up body in freezer

KOKOMO, Ind. – Police in central Indiana say investigators searching for a missing man found a body inside a freezer and arrested a man on a preliminary charge of murder.

Kokomo police said the body was found Sunday in a basement freezer at a house where they were looking for 29-year-old Alex Shipp, whose mother reported she hadn’t heard from since Nov. 8.

Police Maj. Brian Seldon said Shipp was reported missing on Saturday and that investigators determined that he was last seen at the house where the body was found in the city about 40 miles north of Indianapolis. Seldon said an autopsy was planned to positively identify the body.

Police say 51-year-old Walter Logan was arrested without incident and jailed. It wasn’t immediately clear whether he had an attorney.
