Prayer service set at barbershop slaying site

FORT WAYNE – The Peace and Justice Commission of Allen County has scheduled a Heal the Land Prayer Service at the scene of the community's most recent homicide.

The service is set for 12:15 p.m. Saturday at E&M Barbershop, 1108 E. Pontiac St., in the Pontiac Mall.

Kenton Allen Beckman, 44, of Fort Wayne, was shot and killed Thursday. His death was ruled Allen County's 26th homicide this year. All but one occurred in Fort Wayne.
