Fire destroys truck hauling sour cream

A fire destroyed a tractor-trailer rig loaded with sour cream late Monday on the Indiana Toll Road near Angola, the Angola Fire Department said.

Firefighters were sent to the Eastpoint Indiana Toll Road site about 11:30 p.m. When they arrived, the tractor was on fire, and the flames had spread to the trailer that held pallets of sour cream.

The fire was brought under control in 20 minutes, and the tractor and trailer were a total loss. The cost of the damage was estimated at $145,000, the fire department said.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the blaze has not been determined.
