    The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced today that Meijer, Inc., of Grand Rapids, Mich., has agreed to pay a $2 million civil penalty for distributing recalled consumer products.

    The railroad crossing on Noble County Road 300 West in Wawaka is closed until Friday, according to Noble County Emergency Management. A reason wasn’t given for the closure.

Last 2012 Mayor’s Night In scheduled for Monday

Mayor Tom Henry will host the final Mayor’s Night In for 2012, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Citizens Square.

Fort Wayne residents are invited to schedule 10-minute appointments to meet with Henry in his office to have an open dialogue about any concerns, comments, feedback or suggestions related to city government or services. Call 427-1288. Times are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

Residents who met with the mayor during a previous Mayor’s Night In or Mayor’s Night Out event will be placed on a waiting list to give other residents the chance to have their concerns heard.
