FORT WAYNE – After police used a flash-bang device that temporarily blinds and deafens suspects, a man wanted on a federal fugitive warrant was taken into custody Thursday afternoon on the city’s north side.
The Fort Wayne Police Department's Crisis Response and Emergency Services teams were called to a house in the 1900 block of Griswold Drive shortly before 2 p.m. to aid narcotics detectives attempting to arrest Anton J. Moore, 26, of Fort Wayne, according to a statement from the department.
It said the warrant was for a probation violation in connection with dealing cocaine, and that Moore refused to surrender.
Shortly after police used the device, the man gave up peacefully, the statement said.
An 18-year-old woman in the home also was taken into custody on drug-related charges, police said.
