Naturalists from the Allen County Parks Department along with volunteers tour the site of the former Winchester Gun Club at Fox Island Park on Thursday. The trail trekkers, from left, Natalie Haley, Tom Halter, Carole Smith, Bob McCarthy, Dave Boylan and Ron Zartman, saw several acres that had recently been burned to clear out the invasive species, ahead of planting prairie grasses next spring.
