Adams Central pins South Adams

Two of the best wrestling programs in the ACAC hooked up Thursday with Adams Central beating South Adams 46-23.

Adams Central got wins from Andy Oliver (106), Cody Walburn (126), Derek Ellinger (138), Zac Yoder (145), Luke Liter (152), Kaine Luginbill (160), Mason Call (170), Ben Pfister (182) and Alex Bollenbacher (195). South Adams’ wins were by Sawyer Miller (113), Matt Nussbaum (120), L.J. Moser (132), Mavrick Morningstar (220) and Mason Morningstar (285).

Girls basketball

CANTERBURY 57, HUNTINGTON NORTH 50: The Cavaliers scored well below their average of 83.7 but still picked up the victory at home. Bailey Farley had 15 points.

HERITAGE 59, BLACKHAWK CHRISTIAN 43: The Patriots got 22 points from Kendall Knapke for the road win.

Swimming

FORT WAYNE CLASSIC: Homestead won the boys and girls portions of the Classic.

The Spartan boys outscored Carroll 598-545, and while the girls took out the Chargers, 617-511.

Wrestling

WOODLAN 42, HERITAGE 39: Hayden Parisot and Jay Knepp won in quick pins to lead the visiting Warriors. Parisot won by fall at 138 pounds in 1:41, while Knepp in 1:57 at 132.
