No. 1 Notre Dame (12-0) and No. 2 Alabama (12-1) will be facing the second-best rushing team either squad has faced this season when the teams play in the BCS championship game Jan. 7 in Miami.

The Crimson Tide are the No. 20 rushing offense, averaging 224.6 yards, and the Irish are No. 27, averaging 202.5 yards.

The best rushing team Alabama faced was Texas A&M, which is No. 13 (235.1) and defeated the Tide 29-24 Nov. 10. The best running team Notre Dame faced was Navy, which is No. 6 (285.5). The Irish won that game 50-10 Sept. 1.
