Eyeing IU

Notebook: Oladipo puts on a show

BLOOMINGTON – Victor Oladipo created a stir at Assembly Hall with several highlight-reel dunks during Indiana's 100-69 win against Central Connecticut State Saturday at Assembly Hall.

One standout included dunking on the Blue Devils' Terrell Allen.

The show even impressed the opposition.

"He got me into the game too," Central Connecticut coach Howie Dickenman said. "Where did you get this guy from? Fantastic athlete.

Oladipo finished with 15 points and nine rebounds. He was 7 of 9 from the floor.

"We tried to find a weakness with the Hoosiers and we had a tough time," Dickenman said. "They had a lot of answers."

Seeing double

Cody Zeller recorded the seventh double-double of his career, finishing with 19 points and 19 rebounds.

"I think 19 and 19, that's nothing to sneeze at. That's a big-time night. A big-time night," IU coach Tom Crean said. "… He was on the aggressive. He was on the attack."

Watford's night

Christian Watford had a team-high 21 points for the Hoosiers.

"He's coming off his best practice of the year. He's had a good week. And (Friday) he was un-guardable," Crean said.

"… He played with tremendous energy (Saturday).

This and that

Indiana is 9-0 for the second consecutive year. It's just the second time since the 1989-90 season that Indiana has began a season unbeaten through nine games. … The Hoosiers scored 56 points in the paint, the most this season. It's the team's best mark in that category since scoring 58 against Iowa on Jan. 29, 2012.
