Christmas trees
The Non-Commissioned Officer Academy Graduates Association Chapter 89 is selling Christmas trees at the 122nd Fighter Wing Baer Field Heritage Park through Dec. 23. The trees are $20. The money will be used to support the Woodburn Christian Childrens Home, which provides a family environment for homeless children or those with special needs. The trees are sold from 5:15 to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Giving back
The Neighborhood Food Network of Associated Churches of Fort Wayne and Allen County collected nearly 8,000 pounds of food and $350 in cash donations from the WLDE Fun 101.7 Stuff-A-Bus Radiothon that took place last month. It also collected 730 pounds of medicine cabinet items for The Franciscan Center.
Colliers Heating and Air Conditioning and Rabb Water Systems collected $6,377 for the Breast Cancer Foundation during October.
IAB Financial Bank donated nearly 400 pounds of clothing to a medical clinic in Haiti.
Parkview Health and Kohls have teamed to create the Kohls Kids 4 Safety program to help parents keep their children safe on the road. A grant of more than $60,000 will support car seat safety inspections, community events and community access to nurses and physicians. Also, sales from Kohls Cares merchandise will be used for the program.
Donations sought
