Shirley Carter sorts through tree trimmings to make holiday door swag at the Oakdale Neighborhood Association’s Christmas tree lot on Rudisill Boulevard on Friday morning. Carter has been making door swag for her family and friends for years. Her neighbor of 25 years died in October, and even though her house is up for sale, Carter is going to hang a door swag on her security light. “You can’t live next to someone for 25 years and not become good friends,” Carter said.
