Key matchup: The point guards could prove to be the difference tonight. Atkins is third in the Big East in assists per game, and he has only 12 turnovers in eight games. McGonagill leads the Ivy League in assists per game, but he has turned the ball over 23 times in seven games.

The skinny: Tonight is the third meeting between the two programs with Notre Dame holding a 2-0 series lead after winning the last meeting 87-54 Dec. 29, 2007. … Notre Dame is second in the Big East in three-pointers, making 7.1 per game, and Brown leads the Ivy League in three-pointers, making 7.7 per game. … Tonight is Notre Dame’s first game since it defeated then-No. 8 Kentucky 64-50 at home Nov. 29.
