Knights’ Blackmon scores 44 vs. South

James Blackmon Jr. scored 44 points to lead Bishop Luers to a 79-63 victory over South Side in a boys basketball game Friday.

Blackmon also had seven rebounds in the home win. The Indiana recruit put on the show with Hoosiers’ coach Tom Crean in attendance.

Vijay Blackmon added 12 points. Trae Masten scored 13 points for South Side.

CONCORDIA 54, BISHOP DWENGER 40: Thomas Starks scored 19 points and D.J. McCall added 12 more for the Cadets in a road win. Ryan Christman scored 13 points for Bishop Dwenger.

CANTERBURY 55, ADAMS CENTRAL 46: Trent VanHorn scored 25 points for the Cavaliers in a road win. Chase Moyle finished with 14 points. Dalton Combs scored 11 points for Adams Central.

WARSAW 76, ROCHESTER 37: Jordan Stookey scored 15 points in the Tigers’ home victory. John Swanson and Jared Bloom had 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Girls basketball

SNIDER 71, NORTH SIDE 39: Snider’s Meredith Shipman scored the 1,000 point of her career in the Panthers’ home victory. Shipman tied for the team-high with 12 points. Enissa Wimby also had 12 for the Panthers. Kailee Stuller had eight points for North Side.

WAYNE 40, NORTHROP 38: Ta’chell Shaw scored 10 points in Wayne’s home win. Joey Stanford and Jamela Hathaway each scored nine points. Aleah Swary scored 16 points for Northrop.

CONCORDIA 44, BISHOP DWENGER 29: Taylor Sparks had 12 points for the visiting Cadets. Courtney Smith added 10 points. Ally Christman led Bishop Dwenger with nine points.

LEO 55, SOUTH ADAMS 29: Taylor Seiss scored 15 points and Keanna Gary finished with eight points and nine rebounds for the Lions in a home victory. Dzejna Ahmetovic scored 14 points to lead South Adams.

DEKALB 66, CARROLL 58: Hayley Martin had 20 points for the visiting Barons. Baylee Rinehart had 12 points. Madison Peterson scored 18 points for Carroll.

WEST NOBLE 51, CHURUBUSCO 25: Haley Richardson scored 18 points for the Chargers in a road victory.

HOMESTEAD 93, NEW HAVEN 22: Emily Bley scored 32 points in her first game back from an ACL injury as the Spartans won at home. Josie Fisher added 15 points for Homestead.

GARRETT 64, ADAMS CENTRAL 17: Taylor Smith scored 18 points for the Railroaders in a home win. Emily Somers and Brandi Dawson scored 13 points in the win.

WOODLAN 58, BLUFFTON 36: Haley Hostetler scored 17 points in the Warriors’ road victory. Lauren Ehle scored 16 points. Marissa Castano led Bluffton with 13 points.

WESTVIEW 46, CENTRAL NOBLE 41: Tiffany Simcox scored 17 points for the Cougars in the home loss. Maria McCoy had 17 points for Westview.
