Luers DB commits to Purdue

Bishop Luers senior defensive back TyVel Jemison committed to Purdue, and it came even before the recent coaching change.

Jemison, who helped lead the Knights to a fourth straight Class 2A state title last month, gave a commitment to fired coach Danny Hope a few weeks ago but chose not to announce it.

Jemison said via text message that he plans to talk with new coach Darrell Hazell soon by phone call set up by the other coaches.

"I kinda been committed to Purdue when Coach Hope was there, just no one knew," Jemison wrote.

Jemision also played running back at Luers.
