Second man dies in Friday shooting

A second man shot in an incident on Milton Street Friday night has died, and his death has been declared a homicide, the Allen County Coroner's Office said today.

Jeremy J. Walker, 22, died Sunday at a local hospital, the coroner's office said in a statement.

His death from a gunshot wound or wounds is the 28th homicide in Allen County during 2012, the statement said.

Another man, Paul W. Ward III, died at the scene, Fort Wayne police have said.

Police have said they were called to the 700 block of Milton, just east of South Hanna Street, shortly after 9:30 p.m. Friday.

When officers arrived, they found a green Oldsmobile sedan parked on the street was overheating. In the front seat, officers found the two men.

Witnesses told police they saw a man leave the car's back seat and flee on foot to the north.

The incident remains under investigation by city police, the coroner's office and the county prosecutor's office.
