Truck hits Cadillac, injuring 3 and snarling I-69

A collision between a car and truck injured three women and clogged traffic on Interstate 69 for two hours Tuesday, the Indiana State Police said.

A 2007 International box truck driven by Diana Hewson, 66, of Pendleton, was going south on I-69 in the middle lane about 3:30 p.m. When Hewson tried to move into the right lane, the truck hit a 2003 Cadillac driven by Casey Frantz, 25, of South Whitley, police said.

The collision caused the vehicles to spin out near the 314.5 mile marker, near Wallen Road.

Hewson, Frantz and Frantz’s passenger, Tracey Reichart, 43, of Van Wert, Ohio, were taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center. Frantz and Reichart were treated and released, and Hewson remained at the hospital to be treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Near the crash scene, southbound I-69 was reduced to one lane until about 5:30 p.m.
