Bishop to offer Mass for Conn. victims

Bishop Kevin C. Roades of the Fort Wayne-South Bend Roman Catholic Diocese will be offering a Mass for the victims of the school shootings in Newtown, Conn., and their families, the diocese said today.

The Mass on the Feast of the Holy Innocents will be held at 12:05 p.m. Dec. 28 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 1122 S. Clinton St., the diocese said in a statement.

The Feast Day of the Holy Innocents commemorates children killed by King Herod during the time of Jesus' birth, the statement said.

The public is invited.
