Cold Cougars fall to Warner

Saint Francis’ men’s basketball team shot only 35.7 percent from the field and lost, 66-54, to Warner in Lake Wales, Fla., on Monday night.

Kevin Bloom (13) was the only player to score in double figures for the Cougars (10-3), who had a five-game winning streak snapped.

The game was tied at 52 with 5 minutes, 48 seconds remaining, but Warner closed it out with a 14-2 run.

Ethan Hussey and Seth Small both scored nine for Saint Francis, which missed 21 of its final 30 shots at the Turner Athletic Center.

Warner (8-4), which shot 45.3 percent for the game, was paced by Bryce Kachinski’s 19 points.

HUNTINGTON 90, AKRON WAYNE 50: Shane Merryman made 10 of his 11 shots and finished with 22 points in Huntington. Teammate Ryan Boester totaled 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting. T.J. Short and Tyler Ault both scored 10 for Huntington (7-5). Akron Wayne (2-9) was led by Devaughn Boddie’s 18 points.

FRANKLIN 69, TRINE 62: Bailey Howard’s 20 points led Franklin (5-4) at home. Trine (6-3) got 18 points from Scott Howard, who made 7 of 11 shots, while Jared Holmquist had 14.


GRACE 66, INDIANA NORTHWEST 54: Juaneice Jackson’s 27 points paced Grace (9-4) in Winona Lake. Megan Holland and Brianne Wischman had 12 each for IU-Northwest (6-10)
