The Robin Hood Foundation says it is beginning to distribute $50 million in proceeds from last week’s benefit concert to organizations helping victims of Superstorm Sandy.

Madison Square Garden spokeswoman Michelle Isaacs said Wednesday the money was raised through ticket sales, merchandising and charitable auctions at the Dec. 12 show, which featured Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and the Rolling Stones. More revenue is expected to come in.

Robin Hood says it is distributing roughly 40 percent of the money to organizations based in New Jersey, with the rest in New York and Connecticut.

Babies arrive

•Jeffrey Donovan and his wife, Michelle, have welcomed their first child, a representative for the “Burn Notice” actor told People magazine for a story posted on its website Monday. No name or birth date for the couple’s daughter was released.

•Actress Claire Danes and actor Hugh Dancy have welcomed their first child, a spokesperson for the “Homeland” star told People magazine for a story posted on its website Tuesday. Cyrus Michael Christopher Dancy was born Monday.

AP honors Adele

Adele rolled so deep in 2012 that she has been voted The Associated Press Entertainer of the Year.

In 132 ballots submitted by members and subscribers of the AP, Adele easily outpaced other vote-getters such as Taylor Swift, “Fifty Shades of Grey” author E L James, the South Korean pop star Psy and the cast of “Twilight.”

Adele’s year began in triumph at the Grammys, where she won six awards including album of the year for her sophomore disc “21.” It ended with the birth of her son in October.

Singer robbed

Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes is unharmed after being robbed at gunpoint over the weekend.

Nashville police say the singer and four others that included members of the Brooklyn-based band Clear Plastic Masks were robbed Sunday night in east Nashville by two unidentified teens wearing hoodies.
