Damages to 2 homes in Grabill

Two Grabill homes were damaged by fire Sunday, one heavily, according to Chief Chad Jacobs of the Northeast Allen County Fire Department.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 13000 block of State Street about 4:30 p.m., Jacobs said

At one of the houses, firefighters found heavy flames in an attached garage and in an adjacent room. The fire spread to a neighboring house about 5 to 6 feet away and caused minor damage, Jacobs said.

No one was at home in the first house that caught fire, and the residents of the second house were not injured, he said.

Jacobs said the fire was under control in 10 to 15 minutes. The cause is under investigation.
