N.J. man dies in Whitley crash

A New Jersey man died Wednesday night when his SUV lost control on U.S. 30 and rolled several times, the Whitley County sheriff's department said.

John Knauer, 50, of Wenonah, N.J., was driving west on U.S. 30 at County Road 300 West when he used the left lane to pass another vehicle, the sheriff's department said. It said when he tried to return to the right lane, he lost control because of the ice-covered road.

Two passengers in the SUV, Daniel Nevius, 26, of Gloucester, N.J., and John Knauer Jr., 31, of Deptford, N.J., were taken to a Fort Wayne hospital for treatment, the report said.
