SUV driver killed in rollover crash

A New Jersey man was killed and two others were injured in a single-vehicle crash late Wednesday in Whitley County.

John Knaver, of Wenonah, N.J., was driving a Dodge sport utility vehicle west on U.S. 30 near County Road 300 West just west of Columbia City, the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department said.

About 9:50 p.m., Knaver passed a vehicle on U.S. 30 and as he returned to the right lane, he lost control on the ice-covered road and rolled the SUV several times, police said.

Knaver, 50, died at the scene.

Two passengers in the SUV – Daniel Nevius, 26, of Gloucester N.J., and John Knaver Jr., 31, of Deptford, N.J. – were taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center. Nevius was being treated for leg pain, and Knaver Jr. was being treated for pain in his right shoulder, police said.
