The sheriff's department, acting on a tip, said it obtained a search warrant and raided the home of Edward "Eddie" E. Smith in the 900 block of East Indiana 205 about 11 p.m. Saturday. There, police said they found a bloody pit bull-type dog in a plywood fighting ring. Two other dogs were located in the house, police said. One was a pit bull-type dog that was injured and bleeding. The other was a young dog with no injuries, police said. All three animals were secured by the Whitley County Humane Shelter.
