Local first baby candidate: Alex born at 12:02 a.m.

A baby boy was born at 12:02 a.m. today at Lutheran Hospital, Lutheran Health Network announced today.

Alex, whose last name was not disclosed, weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long, the health network said in a statement.

He and his mother, Nancy, are doing well, the statement said.
