Look, I don't know who the Bears are going to hire as their new head coach. But I do know if they haven't talked to this guy, they've yet to leave every stone unturned.
Not that they haven't turned over a gob-lot of stones or anything.
They've already interviewed interviewed Atlanta Falcons special teams coach Keith Armstrong, Tampa Bay offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan and New Orleans OC Pete Carmichael Jr., and have requested permission to talk to Bruce Arians of the Colts and Green Bay OC Tom Clements.
And the latest?
That would be the well-traveled Marc Trestman, currently the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL but formerly an employee of the 49ers, the Raiders, the Saints, the Vikings (twice), the Buccaneers (twice again), the Lions and the Dolphins.
I don't know about you, but as much experience as that resume suggests, I can't believe the franchise that gave us Dick Butkus, Mike Ditka, Walter Payton, Brian Urlacher and the 46 defense would hire a guy who's last gig was with a team nicknamed the "Alouettes." But that's just me.
