Southbound I-69 traffic to stop

A rolling stop for southbound traffic on Interstate 69 will take place at 1:30 p.m. today, Indiana Department of Transportation officials announced.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Department will assist with the rolling stop, which will begin near Exit 326, DeKalb County Road 11A. The rolling stop will allow a box truss for signage to be lifted over the southbound lanes of I-69 at Exit 317, Union Chapel Road.

Motorists may wish to select alternate routes and plan accordingly for traffic delays on southbound I-69, north of Exit 317.

All work is weather permitting.

The Union Chapel Road interchange on I-69 opened Dec. 22 when the three completed interchange ramps were opened to traffic. The fourth ramp – the on-ramp to northbound I-69 – and the roundabout on the east side of the bridge will be completed in the spring.
