Angola girls beat Fremont in NECC

– Claire Grubb made 5 of 12 shots and scored 16 points, leading the Angola girls basketball team to a 62-44 victory over Fremont in an NECC tournament game Wednesday.

Grubb was 3 of 7 from three-point range for the Hornets at home.

Teammate Rachel Rinehart had 14 points and eight rebounds. Kylie Bidlack scored 13.

Fremont was paced by Shea Rhonehouse’s 15 points on 4-of-7 shooting. Mirando White had 14 points and 12 rebounds. Kelsey Sichling added nine rebounds.

WESTVIEW 56, HAMILTON 29: Maria McCoy led Westview with 19 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks in the NECC tournament game at Hamilton. The Marines got 15 points from Lindsey Stoy.

FAIRFIELD 46, CENTRAL NOBLE 34: Destiny Setterberg scored 11 and Brooke Mast added 10 for Fairfield in Albion. Mary Ellen Potts scored 11 for Central Noble in the NECC tournament game.

WARSAW 62, CARROLL 42: Lindsay Baker’s 20 points and Nikki Grose’s 18 paced the host Tigers.

FAIRFIELD 49, CENTRAL NOBLE 38: Josh Stevens’ 12 points in Albion led the Falcons in the NECC Tournament. Alex Vice got 21 points for the Cougars.

HOMESTEAD 5, CARROLL 2: Landon Rody and Paul Lee each scored twice for the Spartans at Lutheran Health SportsCenter.

LEO 5, NORTHROP 1: Tyler Grunden scored four times.
