Victor Oladipo had 20 points as No. 5 Indiana defeated No. 8 Minnesota 88-81 Saturday at Assembly Hall.
The Hoosiers led by 23 points at halftime. But the Gophers stormed back and got within nine points with 2:39 remaining.
Oladipo then grabbed a rebound and scored with 2 minutes to go.
Rodney Williams made a three-pointer for the Gophers to get IU's lead down to 79-71.
Jordan Hulls made two free throws with 1:10 remaining to push the lead back to 10.
A three-pointer from the right corner by Minnesota's Andre Hollins made it 81-74 with 50.5 seconds to go. Hulls responded with two more free throws with 47.5 seconds to go.
Austin Hollis mad another three-pointer to cut the Hoosiers' lead to 83-77 with 40 seconds to go. The Hoosiers turned the all over. Trevor Mbakwe was fouled with 32.2 seconds left, and he made two free throws to make it 83-79.
Hulls was fouled again with 32.2 left, and he made one of two free throws. Andre Hollins was then fouled shooting a three-pointer with 19.5 seconds left. He made two of three free throws to make it 84-81.
Hulls went back to the foul line with 18 seconds to go. He missed both, but got the rebound. He was fouled again and made both 15 seconds. Andre Hollins missed a three-point shot and Christian Watford then hit two free throws for the Hoosiers for the game's final points.
Hulls had 19 points for the Hoosiers (15-1, 3-0 Big Ten). Cody Zeller scored 18 points
IU won its sixth straight game. Minnesota's 11-game winning streak came to an end.
Andre Hollins led the Gophers (15-2, 3-1) with 25 points.
