Daniels appoints officials to boards

Gov. Mitch Daniels made dozens of last-minute appointments to various boards and commissions Friday – a few days before his successor takes office. Among the list are several from northeast Indiana:

Vincent Coda of Kendallville was reappointed to the Board of Podiatry Examiners.

Ian Rolland of Fort Wayne was reappointed to the Indiana Natural Resources Foundation.

Duane Hougendobler of Huntington was reappointed to the Kids First Trust Fund Board of Directors.

Doug Grant of Warsaw was reappointed to the Indiana Natural Resources Commission.

Also, Adam Horst, Daniels’ outgoing budget director, was named to the State Lottery Commission.

Fort Wayne/ Allen County

Huntertown Utility Board meets Jan. 21

The Huntertown Utility Board will have its first meeting at 5 p.m. Jan. 21 with the Town Council’s meeting following at 6 p.m.

The new entity was created after residents voted in support of a referendum to abolish the old board and establish a new one. The previous utilities board, which included all five council members, was disbanded in December.

Members on the utility board include Betty Lavachek, Jackie Tracey and Vince Heiny, who are all citizen representatives.
