  • Softball season ends
    Jessica Hall gave up only three hits to IPFW and the UCLA softball team defeated the Mastodons 8-0 on Saturday to end IPFW's season at the NCAA Regional in Louisville, Ky.
  • Mastodons to regionals
    IPFW senior Theresa McHugh and freshman Rachel Dincoff have earned spots at the NCAA East Region Preliminary Championships, which begins May 23 in Greensboro, N.C.
  • Softball players honored
    IPFW junior Ashleigh Bousquet and sophomore Larissa Franklin were named to the Summit League Softball Academic All-League team, as voted on by the schools’ faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors.

Sellan named MIVA player of week

Not a bad debut.

After his first collegiate volleyball matches, IPFW freshman Andy Sellan was named MIVA Offensive Player of the Week.

Sellan had 22 combined kills in IPFW's season-opening loss to Saint Francis, Pa., and the Saturday night victory over Cardinal Stritch.

He hit at a .471 clip, committing six errors in 34 attacks.

Against Cardinal Stritch, Sellan led the team with 12 kills. He also had three digs and three blocks.

The Mastodons (1-1) play on the road this weekend. Friday, they play at Sacred Heart in Fairfield, Conn., and Saturday, they play at NJIT in Newark, N.J.
