College basketball preview: Purdue at Nebraska

Purdue leaders: Terone Johnson (13.1 ppg), A.J. Hammons (6.3 rpg), Ronnie Johnson (3.3 apg)

Nebraska leaders: Dylan Talley (13.6 ppg), Brandon Ubel (6.8 rpg), Benny Parker (2.6 apg)

Key matchup: Ray Gallegos is averaging 14.3 points for the Cornhuskers in Big Ten play. The guard has been the team’s leading scorer in three of Nebraska’s four Big Ten contests, including a 19-point performance Jan. 9 at Michigan. Terone Johnson is averaging 14.8 points and 5 rebounds in Big Ten games for the Boilermakers.

The skinny: This is Purdue’s first trip to Lincoln, Neb., since Jan. 2, 1978. … Purdue leads the all-time series 8-2.
