2 from area are All-American nominees

Seniors Bryson Scott from Northrop and V.J. Beachem from New Haven are among the hundreds of boys basketball players nationally who have been nominated for the 2013 McDonald's All-American game.

Scott is a Purdue recruit, while Beachem is headed to Notre Dame.

Seven players from Indiana made the nomination list, also including Hamilton Southeastern's Zak Irwin, Mishawaka Marian's Demetrius Jackson, LaPorte La Lumiere's Torren Jones, Ben Davis' Tony Wills and Triton's Clay Yeo.

No northeast Indiana girls player was among those that made the nomination list.

The McDonald's boys and girls games will be April 3 in Chicago.
