Woman, 73, dies in crash

A 73-year-old woman died in a car crash Saturday afternoon in Whitley County, according to a sheriff's department report.

Donna J. Rose of South Whitley was headed west on County Road 500 South near County Road 800 West about 2:45 p.m. when the 2003 Chevrolet Impala she was driving went off the road and hit a tree, the report said.

Rose died at the scene, the report said. What caused her to leave the road is under investigation.
