Panthers regroup at half, grab victory

Snider recovered from a 13-point halftime deficit and ran away with a 64-57 SAC victory at Concordia.

The Panthers (6-5, 2-3) trailed 30-17 at the half but outscored the Cadets 47-27 in the final half to hand Concordia (11-3, 3-2) its second consecutive loss.

The combination of Concordia and Wayne losing and Northrop defeating Bishop Dwenger puts Northrop (13-2, 4-1) into sole possession of first place in the SAC.

Snider junior guard Leeander Williams scored 10 of his game-high 22 points in the final quarter. D.J. McCall led Concordia with 13 points.

NORTHROP 80, BISHOP DWENGER 42: Five Bruins players scored in double figures, paced by Jacoby Claypool’s 19 on 9-of-12 shooting for host Northrop. Grady Eifert scored 20 points for the Saints.

BISHOP LUERS 64, WAYNE 55: James Blackmon Jr. scored 29 points to lead the host Knights.

LEO 87, SOUTHERN WELLS 63: Sam Waters, A.J. Busche and Adam Davison all had 16 points to lead the host Lions.

HERITAGE 58, WOODLAN 36: Zac Toles and Nate Scheumann scored 13 points each to lead the host Patriots.

GARRETT 61, SOUTH ADAMS 49: Vince Marshall’s 15 points led the visiting Railroaders. Chase Mosser had 21 for the Starfires.

LAKEWOOD PARK 60, BLACKHAWK CHRISTIAN 45: Blake Mann’s 18 points led visiting Lakewood Park. Blackhawk Christian was led by Riley Reimschisel’s 16.

CONCORD 42, WARSAW 31: Jared Bloom had 12 points for the host Tigers.

SOUTH SIDE 48, NORTH SIDE 18: After leading 39-12 at halftime, the visiting Archers eased off the throttle, outscoring the Redskins 2-1 in the final quarter.

SNIDER 62, CONCORDIA 52: Meredith Shipman’s 20 points and 14 from Deja Wimby paced the visiting Panthers. DeJour Young had 19 for Concordia.

HOMESTEAD 85, BELLMONT 25: Sydney Buck’s 26 points were one more than visiting Bellmont scored.

CARROLL 61, EAST NOBLE 49: Amy Poynter scored 15 points for the host Chargers.

COLUMBIA CITY 62, DEKALB 60: Heather Schnorr’s 16 points led four Eagles in double figures. Hayley Martin scored 25 for the host Barons.
