Saint Francis women top Huntington

The Saint Francis women’s basketball team inched closer to the 600th win in program history, knocking off Huntington 65-42 Saturday in a meeting between ranked teams at Hutzell Center.

Kayla Drake scored 18 points as the No. 9 Cougars (20-2, 9-1 Crossroads League) picked up the 599th win in program history. Brooke Ridley added 10 points and seven rebounds for Saint Francis.

Allison Greene led No. 24 Huntington (13-8, 5-5) with nine points.

UMKC 77, IPFW 59: Erin Murphy scored 22 points for the Mastodons in a road loss. Stefanie Mauk finished with 11 points for IPFW (6-13, 2-5 Summit League).

INDIANA TECH 66, LAWRENCE TECH 60: Chelsea Carradine had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Warriors (9-12, 7-6 Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference) in a road win. She scored the go-ahead basket with eight seconds remaining. Rachael Kruse led Indiana Tech with 19 points. Kaneisha Bass and Ulyssia Richmond scored 12 and 10 points.

HOPE COLLEGE 75, TRINE 39: Kelsey Henselmeier scored 10 points and had three steals for the Thunder in a home loss. Sydney Spragg, Kayla Dunn and Alivia Recker each finished with eight points for Trine (9-9, 3-6 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association).

BALL STATE 59, KENT STATE 44: Brandy Woody scored 15 points for the Cardinals (6-11) in a home win. Ball State’s 3-1 conference record is the best start for the team since 2008-09, when the Cardinals began 4-0 in the Mid-American Conference. Brittany Carter and Nathalie Fontaine both scored 11 points, while Woody added six rebounds and seven steals.

GRACE 55, MOUNT VERNON NAZARENE 49: Juaneice Jackson scored 23 points and had six steals for the Lancers in a home win. Allison Kauffman added 13 points for Grace (15-7, 6-4 Crossroads League).

MANCHESTER 47, MOUNT ST. JOSEPH 41: Hannah Field scored 12 points for the Spartans in a road victory. Katie Arterburn had 11 points for Manchester (7-10, 6-4 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference).

INDIANA TECH 58, LAWRENCE TECH 50: Melvin Brooks had 19 points and 12 rebounds to help the Warriors snap their three-game losing streak. Antonio Landers added 12 points for Indiana Tech (15-6, 8-5 WHAC).

CALVIN 56, TRINE 43: Scott Rogers had 14 points and five rebounds for the Thunder in a home loss. Jared Holmquist scored 10 points and finished with eight rebounds for Trine (11-6, 4-2 MIAA).

GRACE 67, MOUNT VERNON NAZARENE 48: Greg Miller and Bruce Grimm Jr. scored 19 points for the Lancers (15-6, 7-3 Crossroads League). Karl Columbus added 10 points in the road win.

CENTRAL MICHIGAN 71, BALL STATE 57: In Mount Pleasant, Mich., Kyle Randall scored 16 points to lead the Chippewas (9-8, 2-2 Mid-American). Majok Majok had 14 points and 11 rebounds, his seventh double-double of the season, for the Cardinals (7-9, 1-3).
